JAN HARMSGAT, SWELLENDAM | 9 OCTOBER 2010 Being from a small town myself, I always get this sense of homecoming when I visit a small town. But that being said I also like the creature comforts of the city. Jan Harmsgat, caters for girls just like me, being set on a farm, but with five star service! What I first noticed was the silence, and then after exploring a bit I noticed things like a vegetable patch, geese, an old wagon, olive trees, lavender & a fig tree. Food was prepared and a hearty breakfast served in a proper farm kitchen, with a long wooden table where everybody gathered making you feel at home straight away. Henriette chose this venue for exactly that... she wanted it classy with a touch of old world charm. From the invitations printed on fine linen paper, which you could only r.s.v.p. by physically filling it in with a pen and going to post it at the post office to the dress code of black tie...

Pierre was wearing Henriette's dad's shoes he wore 38 years ago on his wedding day. Like they say in Afrikaans "Hy het letterlik sy skoene volgestaan" :)

Look at Henriette's danty, delicate Italian shoes LOL. I always ask the bride to bring a pair of comfy shoes along, so she doesn't have to walk on gravel with her beautiful heels...

I took this picture out of the car as we're driving back to the venue.
