MARKO & CAROL | Engagement Shoot

Due to the crazy weather we've lately been experiencing in Cape Town, we had to postpone Carol & Marko's engagement shoot a few times... needless to say we ended up shooting the engagement in the week before the wedding. So it's a bit of a problem posting the engagement photos when the wedding has already happened, but I thought it's better than posting them after the wedding photos are blogged LOL... Watch this space for the wedding photos...coming soon!

Dave & Lisa planned their wedding in an unconventional way. They had a midday wedding, with the ceremony starting at 12:00, the guests carried partying well into the night... Lourensford was the perfect setting, with it's wide open plan venue overlooking the vineyards and the Helderberg Mountains, you can't help but wanting to kick of your shoes and relax with a glass of wine. And that's exactly what the guests did. This was also a wedding with the lots of little ones running around and giggling... too cute! Lisa wore a beautiful Elbeth Gillis dress and the staff of Lourensford were on top form. El Le Fleur did the soft romantic décor. A big thank you to Jan Dorfling for helping with shooting the groom prep shots...

OLIVER & ESTHER | Constantia Uitsig

This lovely couple lives in Zurich, and they came all the way for a sunny South African wedding. Well, we all know how the weather is lately and they had anything but a sunny wedding. Nevertheless, they enjoyed their day with the small group of closest friends and family who attended the festivities. Esther had the most divine dress...and Oscar... I mean Oliver...looked handsome. During the day, and I'm not sure when I started calling Oliver, Oscar... after that, tried as I might Oliver became Oscar. So much so that they've decided that if they have a boy one day, his name's going to be Oscar.

JACQUES & HOLLY | Morgans Bay

I arrived the day before the wedding at Morgans Bay, with heavy clouds looming and roads wet and muddy from the rain the week and day before. Holly had her heart set on an outside wedding overlooking the a lot of prayers where said that day. We woke up to a crisp and clear day... but boy did the wind blew...CRAZY!! These two cuties are both pilots and they had the best MC ever! All suited in a Pilots uniform and complete with 3 “stewardesses” he did the general announcements, to the sound of an airport intercom system's chime and the stewardesses pointing out the exits, toilets and smoking area. It was really funny! On a more serious note... looking at Holly you would never say that this tiny lady, did duty as a Pilot in Kabul, Afghanistan. And she recently received her medal for public service for that. Well done Holly!

Juliette & Dale, picked Kleine Zalze specifically for an outdoor ceremony with beautiful views of the mountains. The day started with heavy showers, dark clouds and just altogether miserable weather. Luckily shortly before the ceremony the clouds parted and Juliette had her dream ceremony as planned... Unfortunately the rain started again as soon as we set off for the couple shoot, but armed with umbrellas we managed to get a few shots. Juliette & Dale are one of the best looking couples I had the privilege to shoot in a long time... you guys are going to make beautiful babies ;)
