PAUL & CARLENE | Bakenhof
It seems that a lot of South African girls have been pouched by Aussie guys... maybe it's the fact that SA girls are the most fun, or maybe it's that Aussies & Saffas just get along great OR, maybe the Aussie men are trying to strengthen the gene pool for strong Rugby playing baby boys... who knows? Paul and Carlene met each other in London, when they both worked there and at that stage (according to Paul) she could hardly speak English, today she speaks Aussie English perfectly!! Their wedding day was one of the hottest I had so far, but that didn't deter everyone to have an awesome party! Thanks to Dewald Kirsten for being my right hand man for the day...

QUINTUS & AMANDA| Beloftebos
When I met Amanda & Quintus for the first time, Amanda confessed that she's my stalker...mmm... normally I wouldn't like having a stalker but I LOVE having a blog stalker. They got married on a beautiful December day under the big trees at Beloftebos, with Amanda arriving on the Donkey Carriage. I just want to mention this before you start going through this post... Amanda really has this amazing Turquoise eyes with a dark blue ring around them... no photoshop;) Dresses - Bride and Mother-of-the-bride: Alana & Decor: Polkadot Promotions

GRETHA & LOUIS | The Vine - Somerset West
While editing the images I realised that Gretha reminded me of a women straight out of a Flemish painting... classically beautiful. Louis and Gretha are one of those couples that’s so relaxed and easy going that working with them were such a pleasure. This was my first time at “The Vine”, I was pleasantly surprised and it is literally a stones through from my home – which is an added bonus. Thanks to Sanmarie who did an amazing job with the make-up and El Le Fleur for the simplistic yet striking decor.

QUENTIN & NICI | Backsberg
This wedding will always hold a special place in my heart…yes, the décor was stunning, the dress amazing and the venue fantastic, but the people are the reason why I will never forget it. The sheer joy of the day made my work effortless. Another reason why this wedding was memorable is the amazing cakes, Quentin’s sister, Charyke (she’s the owner of With Love Baking) , made not 1 but 3 cakes and the delicate detail on them left me speechless…

Arno & Luhandri | Tuscan Rose
Destination weddings are always great, you get out of your familiar surroundings, get to see new places etc. Although Bloemfontein isn't that new to me – I grew up there for a large part of my life. So it was with a sense of coming home, that I flew there on the Friday morning. On Saturday we woke to a cloudy day, I thought we're going to have a quick shower and then it will pass. Unfortunately it started raining heavily, with big dark clouds rolling in and thunder. If you haven’t experienced thunder in the Free State, you haven't heard thunder! I was afraid to take Luhandri & Arno out into a field, like we do here in Cape Town during rain. So we shot on the venue's stoop and a bit in a pale yellow Beetle, and then suddenly the rain was gone... yeah!
