JONKERSHOEK | 15 AUGUST 2010
I met Daniella at a wedding earlier this year, when she did the make-up (so if your looking for a GREAT make-up artist for your special day, send me an e-mail) and we decided that we should definitely do a engagement session sometime. I met her and GD in Stellenbosch and we set off for the BEAUTIFULL Jonkershoek Valley. GD is a Bonsai Fundy, and he kept noticing small tree sprouts that would make a perfect Bonsai. I've been interested in the art of Bonsai for quite a while now - but being an instant gratification girl, I never took up the hobby because it takes a lot of patience and nurturing. GD obviously has what it takes... Lizelle Lotter is taking their wedding pictures and I'm soooo jealous because Danielle's going to be a stunning bride!!!

GORDONS BAY | 14 August 2010 John was in the Naval College in Gordons Bay and he's an avid Golf player, so they added a bit of these elements to their e-session. I guess one can say they are ready to tie the knot or hit that elusive hole in one :). Debbie has this real open, contagious smile and she kept laughing through out the afternoon... The whole shoot on the Golf court was a big joke, because Debbie doesn't play and their friends keep harassing her to start...

STEENBERG | 7 AUGUSTUS 2010 André & Hilmarie got married at the quaint little chaple on the Range and had their reception at the historic Steenberg. Hilmarie has a real classic beauty and some of these shots with Steenberg's antique furniture make it look like an old reneisance painting...

THIS MAKES MY JOB WORTHWHILE | Thank You.... I LOVE my job... I still wake up some mornings and can't believe that I'm living my dream. And then days like today when I open my post box and receive a letter, with a international stamp and bright colours - I'm almost in tears being thankful for everything in my life... I received a note today - a handwritten note!!! form Jadie, thanking me for the engagement session I did for them earlier this year at Bloubergstrand. I don't think people realise how special it is being thanked in such a special personal way. Yes, we get payed for doing our job, but receiving a thank you note, a box of special pink champagne chocolate truffles or a bunch of flowers makes one want to do even more! I don't know if all photographers feel the same, but I put a bit of my heart and soul into every wedding I do - and this small tokens of appreciation makes every late night & every working weekend worthwhile.

EENSGEZINDT | 3 JULY 2010 I immediately felt welcome when I arrived at Monique's parents house - I was greeted with a hug at the front door by her mom. Monique's one of those girls that play netball & almost never wear dresses. But from my experience - it's exactly those gilrs who looks absolutely radiant in their wedding dresses. Justin's the quiet one and a real gentleman & they both love sports... and it's also on the sports field that they met! As you'll see their wedding day was filled with smiles...
